In this day and age, technology can help people to connect and communicate over social media platforms, creating a parallel community that allows for the exchange of information, regardless of place and time. Anybody can freely access knowledge and, sometimes, private information of others, whose traces of digital footprints get left behind in the digital world. These footprints create another identity of a person, separating the unity between the real and the digital world as the analogue memories slowly become transferred to the binary numbers system of the digital memory space.

The exhibition, “The Place of Memories”, explores the relationship between information sets that are stored in an “abstract space”, connecting through different activities that happen in the online world. Tewprai Bualoi, Thanawat Numcharoen and Vacharanont Sinvaravatn are three artists that produce their art through the use of new media, incorporating equipment and digital technology as raw materials that seek to draw the line of relationship between the digital self and the information set that is a part of their experience or memories. Their identity online and the physical world are paradoxical and separate from each other, which led to this exhibition to explore the definition of “self” through their memories and contemporary art.
